CASA OF THE TRI-PEAKS
How can Friends of CASA help?
For those individuals who wish to support CASA's mission but cannot serve as an advocate or board member, Friends of CASA is the best option. Friends provide support and assist the governing board of CASA of the Tri-Peaks in achieving its mission and goal of providing a volunteer advocate for every abused and neglected child in the local counties and communities which make up the 15th Judicial District.
Desired Activities for an Individual serving as a Friend of CASA:
-
Familiarize yourself with the issue of child abuse and neglect, particularly as it is evidenced in your community.
-
Be willing to attend an orientation training session in order to become informed about such issues as the mission of CASA of the Tri-Peaks, our program and goals, and the nature and extent of child abuse in your county.
-
Serve on the county Friends of CASA organization and work with other Friends to develop and implement ways to promote, support, resource and grow CASA in your county.
-
Continually be on the lookout for persons that could well serve CASA's mission as an advocate, board member, Friend of CASA, committee member, and/or financial supporter.
CASA of the Tri-Peaks currently has active Friends of CASA organizations in Conway County and Logan County. We would love to find dedicated individuals in Scott and Yell Counties to serve as Friends of CASA as well.
